The main star of the 10th annual Krásný ztráty live festival will be the iconic American soul and gospel singer Mavis Staples. Fresh off a double win at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Staples is set to perform on Saturday, August 15.

A Voice That Changed History, at the Peak of Her Powers

Mavis Staples remains a global symbol of hope and the struggle for freedom. She arrives in the Czech Republic in peak form, bolstered by two brand-new Grammy Awards for her critically acclaimed album Sad and Beautiful World.

Her legendary career spans over seven decades. From her gospel beginnings with the family group The Staple Singers and her close friendship with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to her collaborations with superstars like Bob Dylan, Prince, Aretha Franklin, and David Byrne, Staples has remained a vital force in music. Festival attendees will have a rare opportunity to experience the voice that provided the soundtrack to the U.S. Civil Rights Movement in the intimate, rustic atmosphere of a Central Bohemian estate.🎶
