We’re pleased to present a new program and project by Markéta Foukalová (best known as a member of the band Lanugo) featuring her new three-piece band. This year, Markéta released and celebrated the launch of her new album JINAK (Diferently), her first entirely self-written solo album. She collaborated on the project with producer Radim (Radimo), best known in the world of rap and hip-hop. In live performances, Markéta and Radim are joined by Kuba Ruschka (piano, Champion Sound) and guest Viktor Jerman (guitar, Madfinger).
Markéta Foukalová is often described as a singer and songwriter with an unmistakable vocal style and a distinctive sense of multi-genre approach. Her musical journey includes collaborations with bands such as Madfinger and Gang Ala Basta, as well as a long-standing involvement in the dream-pop project Lanugo. She has also explored jazz-influenced work in a project with composer Martin Brunner’s symphony orchestra (which received a broad nomination for the Anděl Awards).
In the past year, however, Markéta has shifted from performing to creating her own original work. Her current music offers an intimate, unpretentious, and deeply personal expression that is reflected in both her musical style and her lyrics.
The album JINAK presents Markéta in a new, authentic light—exclusively in Czech. It combines introspective lyrics with the energy of soft grooves and gentle beats. The album’s themes reflect femininity, motherhood, everyday life, and the inner world in a sensitive and natural presentation.
“JINAK” is often described as “a personal, delicate, and unpretentious portrait of Markéta Foukalová—as she sounds in 2025.”
