THE RAGANS

The Ragans are an international band that plays classic rock with influences from the early days of rock ’n’ roll. The band was formed by the collaboration of Dor Nagar (The Takeoff, The Blackbirds), an Israeli singer performing in the U.S. under the name Rod Ragan, guitarist Pavel Marcel, and bassist Zdeněk “Wimpy” Tichota, who have been playing together for several years with Michal Prokop & Framus Five. After releasing the single “No Worries,” they added drummer Matěj Meier, a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Contemporary Music in Birmingham, UK, also known from the bands Limetall, Maniac, Mean Messiah, and as the brother of Miloš Meier from Dymytry.

You can look forward to a surge of pure rock energy, vocal and instrumental maturity, and a fresh, original repertoire penned not only by Dora but also by two seasoned Framus members who earned their compositional stripes primarily on their home band’s latest album, “Ostraka.” The program is rounded out by covers of rock classics from various bands popular in the Czech Republic, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Black Crowes, and ZZ Top.
