Composer, guitarist, singer, producer, and lyricist. He is a prominent figure and co-founder of Pražský Výběr. He is the founder and composer for the bands Stromboli and Big Heads. He also performs with the groups BSP, Trio, and Supergroup. His song “Země vzdálená” (Distant Land), with lyrics by Ivan Hlas, became one of the hits of the 1990s. As a composer and performer, he contributed to CDs by Zuzana Michnová, Monika Načeva, Bára Basiková, Kamil Střihavka, Richard Müller, and others. He has composed music for 23 theater productions, including *Akvabely*, *Velice modrý pták*, and *Višňový sad*. He has also composed music for more than 40 television productions and series, such as Konec velkých prázdnin, Oběti, Dobrá čtvrť, Místo v životě, Život je ples, and Cesty domů, as well as for 16 feature films, including Proč, Stínu neutečeš, Na půdě, Odcházení, Přijde letos ježíšek?, and Agáva. He is the composer of the music for the ballets Zvláštní radost žít, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Prince for the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava.
He has also made a name for himself as a composer on the international scene. He wrote the music for six episodes of the BBC historical series Red Badge of Honor, for the children’s series Outlaw, and is one of the composers of the music for the British fantasy series Merlin IV. He composed the music for the Laterna Magika performances Minotaur and Riddles, as well as for the musicals The Clown, Excalibur, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Lady of the Camellias. He was a co-author and the main host of the Czech Television music program Na Kloboučku. He has released over 70 CDs and DVDs. He has won numerous awards. He is the recipient of two Anděl Awards and has several gold and platinum records to his credit.
