MICHAL PROKOP & FRAMUS FIVE

Framus Five is one of the legends of the Czech rock scene, led by the charismatic Michal Prokop—a singer, musician, and man of many talents. His musical style straddles the boundaries of rock, soul, and blues, and continues to win the hearts of listeners to this day. The band’s history dates back to 1963, though it acquired its iconic name and identity in 1967, when Michal Prokop first stepped up to the microphone.

The band went on hiatus twice: in 1971 and then in 1990, when Michal Prokop entered politics. After a spectacular comeback in 2006 with the album Poprvé naposledy, Framus Five came back to life on concert stages and are proving that even after all these years, they still have something to say. And we’re sure the best is yet to come.
