The meeting between Karol Komenda and Michal Prokop—two generations of musicians—at the Krásný ztráty live 2025 festival last August blossomed into a friendship and a new collaborative song. Guitarist and singer Karol Komenda and Michal Prokop present the new music video for the single “Spomínám.”
It was in Všetice, where Michal Prokop is “at home” as the festival’s patron, that the first words of admiration for the Karol Komenda Group’s performance were heard. “Karol Komenda’s trio completely fascinated me. I think they’re amazing. It took me back 60 years to the time when I was just starting out,” Prokop lavished praise right on stage.
Mutual respect and a shared musical language soon gave rise to friendship and collaboration. “When I was writing this song, I knew right away that Michal would fit perfectly into it,” says Karol Komenda about the creation of the song “Spomínám,” which was also performed at Michal Prokop’s traditional Christmas concert last year at Forum Karlín. It was there that the footage for the music video, which premieres today, was also shot.
